MASSENA — The Business Development Corporation for Greater Massena has a second employee again.

The BDC’s board of directors has hired Linda M. Williams to fill an administrative assistant position. Ms. Williams will work 20 hours a week for $10 an hour, according to Executive Director Jason A. Clark.

Mr. Clark had been the only staff member for about a year after the resignation of the previous assistant, Cathy S. Marich.

Ms. Williams grew up here and attended Massena Central High School and the Massena School of Business steno-secretarial program. She completed coursework at Canton ATC, SUNY Potsdam and Strayer University in Washington, D.C.

Her secretarial career then spanned nearly 20 years in the nation’s capital, including stints at the Public Broadcasting Service and the American Insurance Association.

She retired in May 2010 and has returned to the area.

“I really wanted to keep active,” she said. “I really wanted part-time work.”
