Kolb nets 17 in Sackets Harbor win over Copenhagen

SACKETS HARBOR — Olivia Kolb’s game-high 17 points and 12 steals helped Sackets Harbor upend Copenhagen 38-28 in a “D” Division girls high school basketball game on Wednesday.

Caitlyn Graves snagged 15 rebounds to go along with her four points, and Taylor Fields supplied 10 points for the Patriots (10-6, 10-2).

Logan Wheeler had nine points for the Golden Knights (9-7, 7-5).

alexandria 54, lyme 29

Lorraine Beard pumped in 20 points, including six 3-pointers as the Purple Ghosts downed the Indians for a “D” Division victory in Chaumont.

Rachael Calhoun added 12 points for Alexandria (11-4, 10-2).

Mikayla Warren had 12 points for Lyme (0-14, 0-13).

SOUTH JEFFERSON 69, LOWVILLE 14

Amanda Roberts led all scorers with 16 points as the Spartans rolled to a “B” Division win over the Red Raiders in Adams.

Austin Stevens contributed 12 points, eight rebounds and five steals for South Jefferson (15-0, 14-0).

The Spartans will host Lowville (1-13, 1-12) in the “B” Division semifinals on Friday at 6 p.m.

IHC 46, WATERTOWN 28

Christine Wright generated 13 points, seven rebounds, six steals and five assists in helping the Cavaliers defeat the visiting Cyclones in an “A” Division game.

Kayla Miles added 10 points for Immaculate Heart (8-7, 6-4).

Katie Aldrich paced Watertown (6-9, 4-6).

VOLLEYBALL

BEAVER RIVER 3, BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 0

Samantha Hawksley supplied 12 points, 12 digs and five aces to help the Beavers defeat the Panthers in the “C” Division semifinals at Beaver Falls.

Beaver River (16-0) won in straight sets, 25-21, 25-17, 25-21. Cristen Davis added 12 points and 14 assists for the Beavers, which faces South Lewis Saturday in Watertown.

Shely Contryman generated nine assists, seven service points and five digs for Belleville Henderson (4-12). Jordan Fitzgerald had seven digs.

SOUTH LEWIS 3, SANDY CREEK 1

Liz Egnew had 12 kills as the Falcons advanced to the “C” Division final with a semifinal win over the Comets in Turin.

South Lewis (12-5) won 25-17, 25-19, 25-27, 25-14. Jen Strigle added 17 points and 20 assists for the Falcons.

Chelsea Elliott had 14 kills and four digs for Sandy Creek (7-9).

WATERTOWN 3, INDIAN RIVER 0

Nemesis Ruiz had 13 kills and two blocks to power the Cyclones to a three-game 25-22, 25-22, 25-22 sweep of the Warriors in an “A” Division semifinal in Watertown.

Jenna Hibbard chipped in 15 assists and eight digs for Watertown (9-8) who faces Carthage in the “A” Division final on Saturday at Case Junior. Leah Rojas had 14 digs.

Megan Canell paced Indian River (3-12) with seven service points, four assists and three kills. Paige Morgia added five kills and five assists.

LOWVILLE 3, APW 0

Ashley Capone recorded 16 kills in leading the Red Raiders defeat of the Rebels in the Frontier League “B” Division semifinals in Lowville.

Lowville swept 25-21, 25-15, 25-22 and faces South Jefferson in the final Saturday in Watertown. Nicole Roggi chipped in with 11 kills for the Red Raiders (14-1).

Macey Kerr had five kills and two digs for Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (3-12).

WRESTLING

GENERAL BROWN 44, SANDY CREEK 36

Ryan Snow (106 pounds), Dan Patterson (113) and Zach Pitre (220) each recorded pins as the Lions edged the Comets for a crossover win in Dexter.

Tyler Silverthorn and Colton Erb added wins via major decision for General Brown (25-1, 7-0).

Jarod Williams (120), Derek Pfluger (152), Mason McNitt (170) and Ian Miller (285) pinned their opponents for Sandy Creek (13-5, 8-3), which had to forfeit two matches.
