CANTON Maddy Wetterhahn scored 12 points to lead the St. Lawrence University womens basketball team to a 77-37 win over the Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday, which clinched the Liberty League championship for the Saints.
Kara McDuffee scored 11 points and Iris Santoni added 10 for the Saints (17-4 overall, 13-0 conference).
Leslie Havens led RIT (9-11, 5-6) with 12 points.

Chloe Hayter produced 18 points as the Hurons (11-9, 7-4) defeated Clarkson in a Liberty League contest in Potsdam. Kristen Kush tossed in 11 for William Smith.
Leighann Tomita scored 11 points and Brooke Butkovsky added 10 for Clarkson (7-12, 2-9).

Barb Kiliszek and Bianca Smiley both scored 15 points as Buffalo State (18-2, 11-2) knocked off the Bears in a SUNYAC game in Potsdam.
Katy Briedis paced the Bears with nine points (4-15, 2-12).
Finger Lakes CC 85, Jefferson CC 55
Kelli McCauley scored 32 points to pace the Lakers to a Mid-State Athletic Conference victory over the Cannoneers at Canandaigua.
Britany Monpere added 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Cassie Straight had 19 points for Finger Lakes (13-10, 7-4).
For JCC (5-18, 3-6), Rose Maxon scored 15 points, Joelle Percy 13 and Morgan Kiernan had 11.
MENS BASKETBALL
ST. LAWRENCE 80, RIT 70
Kyle Miller and Ralph Temgoua each scored 20 points to lead the Saints (13-8, 9-4) past RIT in a Liberty League game in Canton.
Garrett Sharlow scored 15 points with Terry Parham adding 10 for SLU. Justin Heisig led the Tigers (6-14, 2-9) with 24 points. Brendan Harder scored 19 and Ronnie Canestro tossed in 14.
HOBART 64, CLARKSON 54
Richie Bonneys 22-point effort helped Hobart (16-4, 9-2) defeat the Golden Knights in a Liberty League game in Potsdam.
Joe Gibbons scored 15 points and Matt Pebole added 12 for Hobart. Felix Llanos led Clarkson (14-6, 7-4) with 13 points. Nate Uline scored 12 and John Coleman provided 11 for the Golden Knights.
BUFFALO STATE 88, SUNY POTSDAM 79
Justin Mitchell scored 23 points for Buffalo State (17-3, 10-3) in a SUNYAC win over the Bears in Potsdam.
Jake Simmons added 20 points with Nico McLean tossing in 14 for the Bengals. Rob Duquette led the Bears (4-17, 2-12) with 24 points. Curtis Pierce tallied 14 and Tony Efese tossed in 12 for SUNY Potsdam.
FINGER LAKES CC 82, JEFFERSON CC 77
Nic Caesar and Nick Wicks each scored 19 points as the Lakers outlasted the Cannoneers in a Mid-State Athletic Conference game at Canandaigua.
Finger Lakes CC (9-14, 4-4) raced out to a 44-29 halftime lead and held on for the win.
Jabriel Blue led all scorers with 28 points for Jefferson Community College (13-12, 6-3). Adam Warner added 16 points and Tom Kelso 14 for the Cannoneers.
WOMENS HOCKEY

Clarkson goalie Erica Howe moved into a tie for the national lead in shutouts with six, making 16 saves to blank Yale (1-24, 1-17) in an ECAC Hockey game at Cheel Arena.
Danielle Skirrow scored two goals for Clarkson (18-7-5, 12-4-2). Jamie Lee Rattray, Juana Baribeau, Shelby Nisbet, Carly Mercer and Brittany Styner also scored for Clarkson.
ST. LAWRENCE 3, BROWN 1
The Saints (17-8-4, 11-5-2) scored one goal in each period to defeat Brown in an ECAC Hockey game at Appleton Arena.
Kelly Sabatine scored the first goal for SLU. Vanessa Emond scored in the second period and Rylee Smith scored in the third. Sarah Robson scored for the Bears (7-11-7, 4-10-4).
SUNY POTSDAM 4, NEUMANN 2
The Bears (8-7-3, 5-7-3) rallied with three goals in the third period to defeat host Neumann in an ECAC Womens West game.
Breanna Roy tied the game 2-2 with a goal at 16:03 of the third period and then Annmarie Lewis scored the game-winner just 33 seconds later. Lewis added an empty-net goal with one second remaining. Katie Komsa also scored for the Bears.
Jennie Greenlee and Edie Brenning scored for Neumann (6-10-2, 5-8-2).
MENS HOCKEY
SUNY POTSDAM 4, SUNY FREDONIA 3 (OT)
Mike Foy scored with 28 seconds left in overtime to give the Bears (8-11-2, 6-6) a win over SUNY Fredonia in a SUNYAC game in Potsdam.
Mike Arnold scored two goals for the Bears and Vinny Buttitta also scored. Will McLaughlin, Brian Doust and Stephen Castriota scored for SUNY Fredonia (10-8-3, 5-5-3).
SUNY CANTON 7, NIAGARA CLUB 0
Dan Cibelli and John Payne scored shorthanded goals as the Kangaroos (24-2-3, 7-2) defeated the Niagara club team in Canton.
Thomas Freeman scored two goals for the Kangaroos. J.R. Lafferty, Darren Camp and Rob Liggio also scored. Morgan Barr made 20 saves for the shutout.
SWIMMING
SAINTS SWEEP UTICA
SLUs men won 133-79 and the women picked up a 147-78 win over Utica College in a meet in Canton.
Jason Dutra won three events for the men, taking the 50-meter freestyle, 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. Russ Newton won the 1,000 freestyle and the 100 freestyle and Billy Moran won the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.
Brynn Hagen won the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke for SLUs women. Natalie Dellinger won the 50 and 100 freestyles, and Chasity Barcomb won both diving events.
INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD
SAINTS earn EIGHT WINS
Four men and four women won events for SLU at the Hamilton College Indoor Invitational.
Jack Knych (1,000-meter run), Jarell Roberts (200), Andy Fisher (400) and A.J. Blaisdell (weight throw) were mens winners for SLU. McKayla Nuffer (mile), Eliza Bell (high jump), Hannah Kinsey (200) and Tori Bean (triple jump) won events for the SLU women.
SKIING
3 SAINTS REACH CAREER MARKS
Caroline Carpenter, Eric Lustgarten and Loudon Fruth each had career-best finishes for SLU at the Vermont Carnival in Stowe, Vt.
Carpenter finished in 11th in the womens 5-kilometer classic and Lustgarten was 15th in the mens 10-kilometer nordic race. Fruth finished 19th in the slalom for the alpine squad.
