Beavers earn top seed in c-2 volleyball bracket

The Beaver River volleyball team was named the top seed in Section 3 Class C-2 tournament as the brackets for the tournaments were released.

The Beavers earned the No. 1 seed with a 17-0 record. They face a potential matchup at 6 p.m. Thursday with Frontier League rival No. 9 Sandy Creek. The Comets travel to No. 8 Waterville for a 6 p.m. Tuesday match.

Third-seeded Lowville and No. 6 South Jefferson will clash at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Class B quaterfinals at Lowville. The two teams faced each other in the Frontier League championships on Saturday.

No. 5 South Lewis will host fourth-seeded Living Word Academy at 6 p.m. Thursday in the C-1 tourney as Living Word does not have home facilities.

Eighth-seeded Watertown will host No. 9 New Hartford Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The quarterfinals will be held at Sandy Creek, Chittenango, Herkimer Community College or Jamesville-DeWitt on Feb. 14 or 15.
