Meyers nets 38 points as Roos topple Saints

RUTLAND, Vt. — Kaitlin Myers poured in 38 points and had 11 rebounds as the SUNY Canton women’s basketball team claimed its second straight win with an 86-81 victory over the College of St. Joseph on Sunday.

Former Ogdensburg Free Academy standout Elissa St. Germain added 17 points for the Roos (6-13), who had their highest offensive output of the year.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

COLLEGE OF ST. JOSEPH 93, SUNY CANTON 83

Brendan Rios scored 19 points as the Fighting Saints knocked down 13 3-pointers to outlast the Roos in Rutland, Vt.

Rios hit three 3-point shots for the College of St. Joseph (18-5).

Khalid Vaughn led SUNY Canton (11-8) with 22 points.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

NEUMANN 4, SUNY POTSDAM 3

Nicole Alexopoulos netted a pair of goals as the Knights held off the Bears in an ECAC West game at Aston, Pa.

Neumann (7-10-2, 6-8-2) jumped out to a 3-0 lead before SUNY Potsdam (8-8-3, 5-8-3) scored three of the last four goals.

Annmarie Lewis notched two goals for the Bears.

MEN’S HOCKEY

SUNY CANTON 10, ROCHESTER (CLUB) 2

Bill Ousey, Dan Cibelli and Jake McCombs each scored twice as the Roos routed the Yellowjackets in Canton.

Chris Ypsilantis notched 16 saves to earn his third win in three starts this season for SUNY Canton (25-2-3).

Rochester Ryan Sigurdson made 44 saves for Rochester.

NORDIC SKIING

CARPENTER TAKES 11TH

St. Lawrence University’s Caroline Carpenter took 11th place for the second straight race at the UVM Carnival in Stowe, Vt.

Carpenter finished the 10-kilometer freestyle in 29:50.2. SLU’s Leah Hart was 24th. SLU’s team took seventh place.

Eric Lustgarten led the Saints men with a 27th-place finish.
