FORT DRUM Post officials Tuesday released a map of new physical training routes that was made to promote safety for exercising soldiers.
The new map, signed by Maj. Gen. Mark A. Milley and effective Feb. 15, changes the use of several roads on post from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., when PT takes place.
Per regulation, static road guards will wear the standard high-visibility orange road guard vest and carry white filter flashlights during low-visibility periods.
Several roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic during PT hours, including:
■ 4th Armored Division Drive from Mount Belvedere Boulevard to 45th Infantry Division Drive. Offices with certain passes will grant access to the road at any time.
■ 5th Armored Division Drive from Conway Road to Enduring Freedom Drive.
■ Po Valley from the entrance of the Po Valley Chapel to Tigris River Valley Road.
■ Lewis Avenue from 1st Street West to 8th Street West.
■ Oswego Avenue from 3rd Street West to 8th Street West.
■ Tigris River Valley Road from Iraqi Freedom Drive to Enduring Freedom Drive and from Pech River Road to Lewis Avenue.
■ Bagram Road from UAV Road to the end of Main Tank Trail and Doolins Road.
Several other roads will be available to vehicle and PT traffic, including Tigris River Valley Road from Enduring Freedom Drive onto Pech River Road, along with the rest of the roads on Fort Drum and Wheeler-Sack Army Airfield.
Several roads are set as off-limits to PT:
■ Ontario and Oneida Avenue, also known as Gas Alley.
■ All housing areas.
■ Route 26 roads.
■ Munns Corners Road and Hangar Access Drive.
■ Falcon Trail from Hangar Access Drive to MSR Tampa and Anaconda from Hangar Access Drive to Falcon Trail.
