Blue’s 37 not enough as JCC men fall to Cayuga CC

AUBURN — Jabriel Blue had a game-high 37 points, but it was not enough as the Jefferson Community College men’s basketball team fell, 81-79, in a Mid-State Athletic Conference game on Wednesday.

Tom Kelso had a chance to force overtime, but his 10-foot jump shot missed for the Cannoneers (12-12, 6-4). The former OFA standout had 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Scotty Bynum had 27 points for the Spartans (10-11, 5-5).

■ Morgan Kiernan generated 33 points and five steals as the JCC women’s team won 69-62 over Cayuga CC Wednesday night in Auburn. Joelle Percy chipped in 23 points for the Cannoneers (6-18, 4-6).

Tyresha Mathis led the Spartans (6-18, 1-8) with 21 points.
