Daniel L. Hilts, 29, a man who avoided an arrest early Thursday in a foot chase in the town of Watertown, surrendered Thursday evening to Watertown police to be jailed on a probation-violation charge.
Mr. Hilts, 8808 Mill St., Three Mile Bay, is being held without bail in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building. His probation violation stems from a sentence for driving while intoxicated in August.
He ran from Jefferson County sheriffs deputies shortly after 1 a.m. when they attempted to arrest him on the probation warrant at the apartment of his girlfriend, Destiney K. Parker, 21, of 22418 Eacho Drive. She assisted him in his escape, deputies said, and she was jailed on a charge of obstructing governmental administration.
