SUNY Canton falls in men’s basketball

ALBANY — Mason Horne scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead The Sage Colleges men’s basketball team to a 67-63 in over SUNY Canton in a nonconference game on Thursday.

Matt Farbotko scored 15 points for The Sage Colleges (10-12).

Irving Cato scored 25 points and had 12 boards for the Kangaroos (11-9). Woody Jules added 11 points for SUNY Canton.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Morrisville St. 70, SUNY CANTON 51

Nijee Scott scored 13 points to lead four Morrisville State scorers in double figures in a win over the Kangaroos (6-14) in a nonconference game in Morrisville.

Dyshea Smiley scored 12 points and Nijah Townsend and Tierra Hollins-Hill both added 11 for Morrisville State (9-13). Karina Stanford and Tricia Boland both scored 11 for the Kangaroos.

MEN’S SWIMMING

Taylor sets mark

SUNY Potsdam junior Alexander Taylor set a school record in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 1 minute, 56.8 seconds, finishing third in the preliminaries during the first day of the SUNYAC Championship meet at Buffalo.

Taylor went on to finish in fourth in the finals. Richie Zimmerman also advanced to the finals in the same event, finishing in sixth.
