HERRINGS — The village board voted to change its elections from the third Tuesday in March to the general election in November.

The change will allow residents to vote for local officials and state and national officials at the same time.

Last March, Herrings faced electoral controversy and a court challenge to its election after a resident complained of voting irregularities there. The court challenge was thrown out.

The next election for local officials will be in November 2013.
