Judge announces Fourth District Supreme Court run

Saratoga Springs City Judge Jeffrey D. Wait has announced his candidacy for the state Supreme Court’s Fourth Judicial District, which includes Franklin and St. Lawrence counties, among others.

Judge Wait also serves as acting County Court judge and supervising judge for the town and village courts for four counties.

The state Supreme Court position will be filled at the general election in November.

Before taking the bench, Judge Wait was an attorney for 21 years. He started his career as an assistant district attorney in Suffolk County, later worked for the state Board of Elections and was Saratoga Springs city attorney for three years.

Judge Wait and his wife, Mary Lou, are graduates of Saratoga Springs High School, as are their three daughters.
