Fire guts Hammond house

HAMMOND — A fire of electrical origin destroyed a home early Sunday morning owned by Jerry and Viva Cash at 20 Mile Arm Bay Road in the town of Hammond.

The Hammond Fire Department and Rescue Squad fought the blaze, reported at 12:48 a.m., for about three hours.

Mutual aid was provided by firefighters from Oxbow, Brier Hill and Gouverneur.

The house was insured.
