Carr’s 40-point night too much for SUNY Canton

CANTON — Vermont Technical College’s Kevin Carr poured in a career-high 40 points as the Knights defeated SUNY Canton, 87-74, in a men’s basketball game at the Roos House on Sunday.

Carr went hit eight 3-pointers and went 13-of-31 from the field for Vermont Technical College (18-11).

Vonallen Pickett paced the Kangaroos (12-11) with 26 points and eight rebounds. Woody Jules chipped in 15 points.

■ Ama Baker generated 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Vermont Technical College women’s basketball team edged SUNY Canton, 64-60, on Sunday in Canton.

Kelly Vellek had 19 points for the Knights (6-16). Kaitlin Myers had a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Kangaroos (6-16).
