Jefferson CC’s Kelso wins conference honor

Jefferson Community College’s Tom Kelso received Mid-State Athletic Conference athlete of the week honors for the week ending Feb. 19, the school announced.

Kelso, a sophomore forward from Ogdensburg, registered 23 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots in a key, season-ending victory over Corning Community College on Saturday. His 10-for-19 shooting performance helped push JCC into the conference playoffs.

■ JCC sophomore center Matt Johnson is the college’s athlete of the week. Johnson averaged 14 points and 13 rebounds in helping JCC to wins over Clinton CC and Corning CC.
