After falling behind 15-4 in the first quarter, top-seeded Tupper Lake (16-4) went on a 38-13 run and cruised to a win over No. 2 Brushton-Moira at SUNY Potsdam Friday.
Katie Stuart led the Lumberjacks with 21 points, including this 3-point basket that got Tupper Lake its first tie since it was 2-2. This shot tied the game 23-23 with 3 minutes, 54 seconds left in the first half. It also sparked a 10-0 run for the Lumberjacks.
Lizzy Zurek scored 12 points, Carley Aldridge added 11 and Sam Sanford finished with 10 for Tupper Lake, which will have a first-round bye in the state playoffs and host the winner of the Section 2 and 7 champions in a quarterfinal game at noon on March 10 at SUNY Canton.
Jessica Jacques and Sandra Martin each scored 12 for the Panthers.
