MASSENA Massena-based state police arrested Allen J. Oshier, 28, Canton, on a fugitive from justice warrant Wednesday afternoon.
The warrant stated that Mr. Oshier was to be arrested after fleeing from Florida on a criminal possession of cocaine charge. He was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, without bail.
Mr. Oshier was also picked up on an arrest warrant issued on Feb. 10 by Canton Justice Philip D. Fonda for criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. No further details were available about that charge.
Troopers also charged Mr. Oshier with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument for allegedly cashing a forged check for $525 at an Ogdensburg bank in June. Mr. Oshier was visiting a friend of his father, Richard G. Adams, in Ogdensburg when he allegedly forged and cashed checks for $525 and $400. He also allegedly made four ATM withdrawals amounting to $904 from Mr. Adamss account. In total, Mr. Adams told police, he lost $1,883 due to Mr. Oshiers actions.
