WADDINGTON St. Lawrence County Sheriffs Department deputies are investigating the robbery of an undisclosed amount of cash Thursday evening from the Kunoco IGA in Waddington
The robbery reportedly took place shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday. St. Lawrence County Sheriff Kevin Wells said a white male, described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 160 pounds and wearing a black hoodie and a ski mask, entered the store, went behind the counter, struggled with a 21-year-old female cashier and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the store.
The sheriff said no weapon was displayed during the incident. Waddington Rescue was called to the scene for a report of a female with a bite wound to her arm shortly after the robbery.
The suspect left the store on foot but from there we dont know, the sheriff added.
Two young men wearing black hoodies were brought to the store by police shortly after the incident, but both men were released after store employees said they were not the male who had stolen the money.
Police said two employees were working at the store when the incident occurred.
Sheriffs deputies were assisted by New York State Police. Troopers manned a roadblock in the Louisvile area for a short time after the robbery was reported.
