Clayton- Audrey Kathleen Nuffer, Age 90, of Ocala Florida died Wednesday morning June 13th at Emeritus Nursing Home in Ocala where she resided for the last few years.
Audrey was born January 28th, 1922 in Hammersmith England, a borough of London, daughter of Albert and Mary Dutton King. During WWII she was secretary for the British Army. She met and married George Nuffer October 30th, 1945 in Paris France, during the war, where he was an active participant in the transportation planning and organization of the Normandy Invasion. He died September 17th, 2000 at age 81.
Audrey enjoyed the St. Lawrence River, sewing, knitting, baking and her grandchildren. She was known for her fabulous Yorkshire pudding.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, George A. Nuffer III and Virginia, Portville NY and Philip K. Nuffer and Sally, Clayton; two sisters, Hilda Woodcock of Ocala Florida and Cynthia Walsh of Philadelphia PA; a brother Peter King of Syracuse; four grandchildren, Kristy, Andy, Jay and Meghan; three great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private memorial service will be held at the familys convenience. The body was cremated. Audrey will be buried alongside her husband in Floridas National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
Audrey is predeceased by a daughter, Jacqueline, who died in infancy; two brothers Fred and Tom King of England.
