HENDERSON — The Town Council will meet again today to push forward on determining equivalent dwelling units and pricing for its Water District 2.

Town Supervisor Raymond A. Walker said the council will review a price of $140 per EDU, an increase of $22.75 from its current price of $117.25. Mr. Walker said prices could shift based on a decision on the number of EDUs within the district.

While a decision on how to proceed within the district has been pushed back for months between the council and a specially formed water committee, prices were expected to jump to cover a shortfall and to bolster the district’s financial reserves. The multimillion-dollar district entered the year with only $2,077 in reserves.

At the council’s monthly meeting last week, the possibility was raised that a deficit would be carried into at least the following year, with the district borrowing from the town’s general fund. The process would be similar to the town’s Water District 1, which held a similar deficit for three years.

Mr. Walker said that Water District 2 would have to borrow about $61,000, but that the longest he could see a deficit for the district would be two years.

Also on the agenda is a review of the town’s dog laws. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 6:30 p.m. today at the Town Barn.
