THERESA A young man was killed and a young woman seriously injured Thursday afternoon when the pickup truck in which they were riding overturned off County Route 21 in the town of Theresa.
They were riding in the trucks bed and were thrown from the truck, state police said. Their names were not released, pending notification of kin.
Police said the truck was southbound when it went out of control at about 3:10 p.m. It went off the side of the road and flipped, police said.
Two people in the cab suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The man died at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, and the young woman was flown by helicopter to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse.
Police said alcohol did not appear to be a factor. The investigation to determine a cause was continuing.
