LOWVILLE Xavier T. Polk, 26, of 3636 River Road, Port Leyden, was being held Thursday night in Lewis County jail following his arrest by village police in connection with a disturbance that morning in front of the Lewis County Courthouse.
He is charged with second-degree counts of criminal contempt and harassment. Village Justice Patricia H. Yarina set bail at $250.
Police said he was arguing with his former girlfriend, who was accompanied by a child. Police determined an order of protection had been issued for the child against Mr. Polk in Oneida County Family Court.
