WEBSTER — Harold M. Forman, Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, age 89. Predeceased by sister, Sylvia Graff. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elsie; daughters: Judith Forman of San Diego, Susan (Edward) Einowski of Portland, Oregon, and Marcia (Floyd) Fronius of San Diego, and a son, Steve (Brenda) Forman of Webster, NY, 4 grandchildren, Sarah (Alfredo) Einowski Villanueva, E Jeffrey Einowski, Stella Fronius and Joel Forman; nieces and nephews.

Harold was born September 20, 1922 in Albion, New York. He was the son of Frank and Sadie Forman. He graduated from Albion High School, class of 1939, and Rochester Business Institute. He worked at Carlton Cold Storage, his father’s produce business, before entering the Army Air Corps in 1942. He served overseas at Reijavic, Iceland, and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. He married Elsie Weiner of Brighton on May 1, 1945. After the war they resided in Carlton Station , New York, where Harold continued the family produce business. He was an officer with the Carlton Volunteer Fire Department and a substitute school bus driver for the Albion Central School District. He also worked for the agricultural census and for the Borden Company in North Carolina.

In the late 1960s Harold joined his brother-in-law, Walter Weiner , operating Webster Drug Store in Webster, New York until his retirement in 1990. Wally and Harold developed a reputation for humor, affability, and customer service. Harold was an avid golfer. He enjoyed long walks, cross country skiing, travel, and visiting his children and grandchildren, following the stock market and reading. After a stroke in 2006 Harold entered Maplewood Nursing Home. To the end he retained his memories and sharp wit.

Friends are invited to his Memorial Service 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 25th at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave. Webster. Interment Webster Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
