■ CARTHAGE — During the summer, the village Board of Trustees will meet monthly. At the June 4 meeting, trustees approved meeting dates for July 16 and Aug. 20. The meetings will begin at 7 p.m. at the offices at 120 S. Mechanic St.

■ HERRINGS — The village Board of Trustees has set the summer picnic for 11 a.m. July 28 in the park. The village will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, rolls and table service, and a list will be distributed for sign-ups for donations of other foods.

■ CARTHAGE — Town of Wilna officials have set a public hearing at 6:45 p.m. July 9 at the town offices, 414 State St., to extend the moratorium on the siting, location or application for review of a recreational facility in the town. The proposed extension will be in effect until Oct. 15.
