A Watertown man is jailed under $20,000 bail for allegedly entering a residence on Starbuck Avenue early Sunday and threatening a resident with a knife.

Leonard D. Gray, 25, of 168 High St., was arrested later in the morning by Watertown police on charges of first-degree burglary and third-degree menacing. Additional charges will be pending with grand jury action, said Lt. Frank J. Derrigo.

Mr. Gray is being held in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, with bail set by part-time Watertown City Judge Catherine J. Palermo.

Police allege that Mr. Gray unlawfully entered the home of Corey Smith, 22, of 845 Starbuck Ave., about 1:25 a.m. Sunday and “made physical contact” with Mr. Smith. He is accused of wielding a knife, but Mr. Smith did not suffer any injury related to use of the knife, police said.

There was no indication from police that Sunday’s incident is linked to an incident on June 11, 2011, when Mr. Smith was stabbed in the back and hand, allegedly by Kenna R. Williams, 18. She was indicted on charges of second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing, and her case file has since been sealed for youthful-offender status.
