Barbara Tabolt Eddy, Centerville, Massachusetts, died peacefully on Feb. 23rd, 2012 at her home after a long illness. She had her sons, daughters and loving husband by her side.
Barbara was born in Utica, NY in 1931 and lived there with her parents, George and Loretta Talbot, and brother, Warren, until they moved to Carthage. Barbara graduated from Carthage High School and then received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from The University of Rochester. She then received her certification in occupational therapy from Columbia University. Barbara initially worked with Cystic Fibrosis patients and then as a physical therapist assistant.
Barbara loved being involved with her church where she taught Sunday school, worked with the Miracle Kitchen and was a member of the vocal and chimes choirs. She also loved traveling around the country visiting her children and other relatives.
She is survived by her husband Merle and six children, Dorothy Rumrill (Mike), Beth-Anne Allen, Rick Allen (Sandie), Linda Dowe (Peter), George Allen (Lety) and William Eddy (Sandra), nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her brother Warren and daughter Christine.
A graveside committal service will be held on Saturday, June 30th at 11:00 AM at the Fairview Cemetery, South James St., Carthage. Arrangements are being handled by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage, NY 13619
