WPBS adds World

Viewers of WPBS-TV have another viewing option.

On Saturday, WPBS will add the “World” channel at digital channel WPBS-2 at 16.2, which is transmitted from its Copenhagen tower and at 18.2, transmitted from its tower in South Colton.

World will broadcast from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The current 24/7 service on those channels, “Create,” will continue to air from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The above options are for “over-the-air” reception and for those with basic cable.

“World” also will be found on Time Warner cable digital channel 851.

WPBS has two other channels, 16.1/18.1, WPBS-1 and 16.3/18.3, WPBS-3 in high definition. Respectively, on cable, those channels are 850 and 853.

World’s lineup includes science, nature, news, public affairs and documentaries.
