Wizards defeat Outlaws for back-to-back wins
ONEONTA Bryan Chudy (Clarkson University) pitched seven innings to earn the win and Jordan Enos tripled twice and drove in four runs to propel the Watertown Wizards past the Oneonta Outlaws, 9-5 on Thursday in Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League play at Damaschke Field.
Donald Walter doubled, singled twice and drove in a run and Lowville native A.J. Capone went 3-for-4, including a double, to pace the Wizards (8-11), who won their second straight and improved to 6-2 on the road.
Chudy (2-1) allowed three runs on five hits, walking only one batter and striking out two.
Starter Nathaniel Abel pitched five scoreless innings for Oneonta (11-8) before Watertown broke through with four runs in the sixth and one in the seventh before scoring four times in the ninth keyed by Enos three-run triple.
The Wizards won two straight games for the first time since June 8-9, three games into the season. Watertown looks to match its season-high winning streak of three games when it hosts first-place Amsterdam at 7 tonight, with fireworks afterward at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.
