Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush, R-Black River, is on crutches after having surgery on his knee last week.
He tore his meniscus, said Brian Peck, Mr. Blankenbush's chief of staff. Mr. Blankenbush isn't sure how the injury happened. Always a team player, Mr. Blankenbush waited until session was over to have the surgery, Mr. Peck said.
Public appearances will be kept to a minimum while he's convalescing, Mr. Peck said.
Mr. Blankenbush doesn't have a general-election opponent for Nov. 6.
