Dean’s list

The following north country residents recently were named to the dean’s list at their colleges or universities:

Boston (Mass.)University

To receive dean’s list honors at Boston University for the spring semester, students must receive a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Colton, DeKalb Junction

Heather Rae Aschenbrenner, senior, nutritional science. Miss Aschenbrenner, daughter of Julie Coller, DeKalb Junction, and Lawrence Aschenbrenner, Colton, attended commencement with her class on May 20 and will graduate, with honors, in December, with a bachelor’s degree. She received a GPA of 3.73 for the spring semester. She plans to begin a registered dietitian internship or continue employment at Boston University, Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, where she has been employed as a research assistant since 2009, and continue education towards a master’s degree in clinical psychology.

Utica College

To receive dean’s list honors at Utica College for the spring semester, students must receive a grade point average between 3.4 and 3.99.

Colton, DeKalb Junction

Holly Margaret Aschenbrenner, freshman, child life specialist. The daughter of Julie Coller, DeKalb Junction, and Lawrence Aschenbrenner, Colton, held a semester GPA of 3.43. She plans to attend St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing, Utica, in the fall.

Asa T. Stackel, senior, broadcasting and mass communication, Vernon E. Rank Outstanding Senior Award. Mr. Stackel, son of Robert and Katherine Stackel, Watertown, is a member of the soccer club, WTOP-10, WNYO-FM and intramural sports and is a reporter for Channel 7 News, Watertown.
