Assemblyman Kenneth D. Blankenbush, R-Black River, is limiting public appearances after having surgery on his knee last week.

Surgeons repaired a small tear in his meniscus, said Brian Peck, his chief of staff. Mr. Blankenbush waited until the state legislative session was over to have the surgery.

Mr. Blankenbush said he isn’t sure how the injury happened. He’ll be off crutches soon, Mr. Peck said.
