The state Department of Environmental Conservation has revised its rules to ease restrictions on moving wood designated for manufacturing facilities to be processed.
The change in labeling, removing such wood from the departments definition of firewood, was made to aid facilities such as sawmills, pulp and paper mills, and biomass power plants.
More information about the departments firewood rules can be found at www.dec.ny.gov/animals/28722.html.
