Owens tele-town hall Tuesday

New York's 23rd congressional district is, in a word, gigantic.
Its 21st congressional district is, in three words, even more gigantic.
That's the driving force behind tele-town halls, which help Rep. Bill Owens talk to a bunch of people all over the district all at once. Mr. Owens, D-Plattsburgh, has scheduled one for tomorrow at 7:25 p.m.
The tele-town halls in the past have brought out gentle questioning from impassioned supporters. We'll see if an election-year changes the tone of the questions.
There are three ways to sign up:
• emailing their name and complete phone number to;
• calling the Congressman's Washington office at 202-225-4611; or
• filling out the form provided at
All politics being local, Mr. Owens' staff has touted their constituent outreach service. They've secured $2.3 million in due benefits for residents of the 23rd in 2012, they said, responding to 17,000 constituent concerns.
