WADDINGTON Recent visitors to the newly redesigned Artworks Creperie, Gallery, Gift Shop and Cafe will notice a few changes to the gallery and cafe.
Artworks, at 2 Main St.,has expanded its business to include more summer hours, a new menu and musical performances.
During the summer, Artworks will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. The cafe will feature a breakfast buffet from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.
The Cafe and Creperie will still specialize in dessert, entrée crepes and panini sandwiches, but now will offer new dinner menu options, including beef burgundy, manicotti, chicken or shrimp alfredo, chicken cordon bleu and caesar salad, with or without chicken.
On Saturday, the band Oceans Below will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. The Watertown-based group will play original and cover music. The self-described indie/pop/rock band will perform cover songs from as far back as the 1950s to todays popular and country music.
Musical performances are something weve tried to do in the past, owner Mark Scott said. Were still in the planning stages, but were excited to kick it off with a new group from the Watertown area thats just released a CD.
Customers are encouraged to call ahead for reservations because seating is limited, Mr. Scott said.
People who havent been in the creperie for a while will notice the number of seats has increased and the main part of the facility has been rearranged for additional seating, he said.
Mr. Scott said Artworks is hoping to obtain a license to sell beer and wine in the coming months. The newly revamped business is also looking to incorporate outdoor seating so customers can view the St. Lawrence River.
Despite the new attractions, Mr. Scott said, Artworks visitors still can view and purchase local artwork.
We still work with many area artists to feature, display and sell their work, Mr. Scott said. That hasnt changed. Weve been selling and displaying local art since we opened eight years ago, and that wont change.
