CANTON— St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies arrested a second person Monday for allegedly conspiring to bring tobacco into the county jail.

Shaun M. Smith, 34, of 744 Fulton Road, Lisbon, was charged with one count of attempted second-degree promoting prison contraband.

On Saturday, Sarah L. Butler, 27, of 744 Fulton Road, was arrested after she allegedly attempted to deliver a small amount of tobacco to Mr. Smith in the jail, deputies said. She was charged with promoting prison contraband and released on an appearance ticket.
