Malones Brandon Welch and Morristowns Geoff Baldwin have been named first-team all-state in their respective classes by the New York State Sportswriters Association.
Welch, a junior pitcher/infielder, batted .444 with a 2.21 ERA to earn first team Class A honors. Baldwin, a senior pitcher, posted an 8-1 record with a 1.33 ERA in Class D.
Watertown senior pitcher Caleb Bettis earned third-team honors in Class AA, while teammate Josh Belch, a junior catcher, made the sixth team, and senior infielder Kyle Simmons is on the seventh team.
Also in Class A, Massena senior outfielder Cullen Baines and Massena senior pitcher Jake Kormanyos are on the sixth team, Malone junior outfielder Shawn Mulverhill made the seventh team and Massena junior pitcher Zach Rusaw is on the eighth team.
In Class B, Ogdensburg Free Academy senior designated hitter Andrew Lebeauwas chosen for the third team, Gouverneur junior outfielder Matt Ashley is on the fifth team, Canton junior infielder/outfielder Bryant Wentworth and OFA junior outfielder Andrew Cole are on the sixth team and General Brown senior infielder Jordan Delaney and OFA junior pitcher Brendan Arsenault made the seventh team.
Norwood-Norfolk senior infielder Jordan Lashomb is the lone area representative in Class C, making the fifth team. While in Class D, Madrid-Waddington senior infielder Alex Brock is on the second team, Heuvelton junior outfielder Aaron Cobb is on the third team and sophomore utility player Jacob Mayette of Madrid-Waddington made the fourth team.
