CANTON A Parishville man who allegedly shot a dog on his property earlier this month was arrested at 7:45 p.m. by Canton-based state police.
Luke A. Rosenbarker, 32, of County Route 47, was charged with torture/injure/not feeding an animal, a class A-misdemeanor.
Mr. Rosenbarker allegedly reported that a dog was on his property and contacted an animal control officer. However, the dogs owner was notified by the control officer the next morning that the canine had been shot, deputies said.
To what extent the dog was injured was unknown. The incident was first reported shortly after 11 a.m. on July 5.
Mr. Rosenbarker was issued an appearance ticket to reappear at a later date.
