American Pickers, a History Channel show featuring a pair of antique pickers, is apparently eyeing the north country.
Lewis County Chamber of Commerce officials said they were contacted by the television network about soliciting leads on regional junkyards, barns and other repositories of unique and interesting items that stars and antique experts Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz may be able to renovate and resell. They are looking to visit sites in New York state some time in August, chamber officials said.
The show is looking for multiple buildings crammed with old items like vintage motorcycles, bicycles, collectibles, unique folk art and woodcarvings but not shops, antique malls, auctions or flea markets.
It is not interested in farming items, tractors, tools, glassware, appliances, crocks, stoves or country primitives.
Anyone with site ideas may leave a message for staff of the TV production at 1 (646) 493-2184 or email a name, phone number, town, state, items and pictures to americanpickers@cineflix.com.
