CANTON — Police simultaneously stopped a vehicle and searched two homes Thursday, resulting in marijuana charges against three St. Lawrence County residents.

George S. Joanette Sr., 54, and Mary Beth Joanette, 45, both of 201 English Settlement Road, Morristown, and Timothy J. Herbick, 53, of 925 Mansion Ave., Ogdensburg, each were charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class D felony.

Police seized approximately 10 pounds of marijuana, $26,400 and three guns from the two residences about 4 p.m. Thursday.

The investigation, conducted by the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, state police and the U.S. Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, is ongoing.

All three were arraigned and are being held in St. Lawrence County jail, Canton.
