Funeral services for William Hockler, age 65, of Ogdensburg were held on Friday, July, 13 at 10:00 at Frary Funeral home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Mr. Hockler passed away Friday, July 6, at the Northeast Center for Special Care in Kingston, NY.
Mr. Hockler is survived by his wife Letty Hockler of Ogdensburg; two daughters Tammy Hockler of Ogdensburg and Jeni Curtain and her husband Todd of Marcellus, NY; and four grandchildren Brittanie Jones, Cody Jones, Gregory Curtain, and Trisha Curtain; one sister Margaret Bloomer; one brother James and his wife Susan of Troy, NY. Mr. Hockler was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Fink and his sister Sandra Pelton-Kramer.
Mr. Hockler was born on June 6, 1947, the son of Francis and Jenny (Fink) Hockler. He attended school in Rennselear, NY. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1964 and left the service in 1970. He later went to work for the State Hospital working in transportation and the pump house. Mr. Hockler actively participated in many organizations including the Marine Corp League Post 593, VFW Post 2936, American Legion, AMVETs, and the Masons.
