LITTLE FALLS The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs won their 10th straight Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League game on Saturday, defeating the Watertown Wizards, 12-2, at Veterans Memorial Park.
The DiamondDawgs (19-13), who built a 3-0 lead through the first three innings and then salted the contest away with a seven-run eighth, got a strong effort from winning pitcher Joe Michaud. He earned his fifth win in six decisions, allowing two hits and two runs while walking five and striking out two over five innings.
The Wizards (13-21), who dropped their fourth straight to sink 4 1/2 games out of a playoff position, got their two runs in the fifth on former Immaculate Heart Central standout Dustin Exfords home run.
Watertown concludes its seven-game road trip tonight, meeting first-place Amsterdam at 7 p.m.
