"A childs assertion that tomato plants were growing in a house on Davidson Street on Sunday afternoon led to the discovery of 43 marijuana plants, according to Watertown police.
A patrol was sent to the home of Carlos F. Ocasio, 29, of 622 Davidson St., to investigate a domestic fight involving Mr. Ocasio and his girlfriend. No charges resulted from the fight, but an officers curiosity was aroused by the childs comment about tomato plants in the house, police said.
Mr. Ocasio was asked about the plants, and police said he cooperated, leading an officer into a bedroom, where 43 plants were found in a cabinet.
He is summoned to Watertown City Court to face charges of growing marijuana without a license, cited under state public health law, and unlawful possession of marijuana.
