COPENHAGEN – Anna Marie Meister Sullivan, 95, died early Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Barbara Carroll on Rte. 194. She had been under the care of her family for a short time.
Born in the Town of Denmark on May 5, 1917, the daughter of Charles A. & Grace A. Kohler Meister. She attended school in Lowville.
She married Harold A. Sullivan on August 28, 1936 at the St. Marys Catholic Church Rectory in Copenhagen. Mr. Sullivan died on June 23rd, 1995. She loved gardening, baking and sewing.
Anna loved her family and has a total of 255 and still counting direct descendants. Among them are her children and their spouses; Charles & Shirley, Carthage, Robert & Joan, Copenhagen, Lois Aubin, Copenhagen, Thomas & Virginnia, Copenhagen, Linda & Richard Bush, New Bremen, Timothy & Yvonne, Carthage, Ronald & Rebecca, Copenhagen, Gail & Daniel Boyle, Mayesville, South Carolina, Harry & Barbara, Fulton and Barbara & Donald Carroll, Copenhagen, her siblings; Amy Tabot, Lowville, Hazel Murphy, Prospect, Ohio, Mildred Pelot, Kirkville, and Carrie Huston, Carthage. Also surviving are 40 Grandchildren, 121 Great-grandchildren, 35 Great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, Harold, her son, Gerald Andrew Sullivan, who died in 1948, her brothers, John and Roy Meister and her sisters, Robin LHullier and Vera Pratt.
A funeral service for Mrs. Sullivan will be held on Wednesday, July 18th at 11:00 at the Lundy Funeral Home, 10229 Washington St., Copenhagen, with the Rev. Samuel P. Lundy, officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Champion. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home in Copenhagen on Tuesday, from 2 – 8 PM.
