"FINE Town officials instituted a ban on nonessential water uses and declared a state of emergency Tuesday. The Star Lake Water System is experiencing low water pressure and, without enough water to meet maximum demand, residents are prohibited from watering their yards and washing their cars beginning at 1 p.m. today. The ban includes washing driveways and homes, filling swimming pools or using water from fire hydrants.
Anyone caught violating the ban will be charged with a misdemeanor and face a $250 fine. Subsequent offenses escalate to a $500 fine.
