Watertown police early Saturday arrested Christopher B. Rushing, 28, of 10138 4th Armored Division Drive, Fort Drum, on a charge of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He was accused of having a loaded .40-caliber handgun in his vehicle during a 1:03 a.m. traffic stop in the 500 block of West Main Street.

Mr. Rushing was arraigned before part-time Watertown City Judge Catherine J. Palermo and sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $1,000 bail.
