LOWVILLE A Glenfield woman on Friday was accused of taking ammunition from Walmart on Route 12 after being denied an exchange.
Lewis County sheriffs deputies charged Melissa S. Howard, 31, of 5714 Greig Road, with petit larceny, answerable in Lowville Town Court.
Deputies said Ms. Howard attempted to return 20-gauge ammunition for a refund or exchange but could not because of Walmarts no-return policy for ammo. So, she walked out of the store with 12-gauge ammunition, valued at $23.97, leaving the 20-gauge ammunition behind, deputies said.
