POTSDAM A Potsdam restaurant owner whose air conditioning unit was destroyed Saturday is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the vandals.
Tom DeRosa, owner, reported that a central air unit installed on a shelf 10 feet above the ground in the alley behind the restaurant was pulled down and destroyed sometime in the early morning on Saturday.
Im more than happy to pay a thousand dollars to see somebody arrested, Mr. DeRosa said. Its ridiculous, pointless vandalism.
Mr. DeRosa said this is the first incident of vandalism over the nine years he has owned the restaurant. Anyone with information can contact the Potsdam Police Department at 265-2121.
With temperatures climbing to 89 degrees inside, the restaurant will remain closed for several days until a new unit is installed.
