MASSENA — Helen G. Marcil, 91 formerly of North Racquette Rd, Massena passed away Friday afternoon (July 27, 2012) at the St. Regis Nursing Home where she resided since 2007.

A Memorial Mass for Helen will be held Wednesday (August1, 2012) 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church with Rev. Scott Fobare presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. At the family’s request, donations may be made in her memory to the Activity Fund at the St. Regis Nursing Home.

Surviving Helen is her son and daughter in law Robert and Frani Marcil of Massena, her beloved grandson Jeremy of Massena, six great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Oakes of Massena, many nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Medve, Mary Oney, and Elizabeth Bartos, her brothers Mike, John, Alexander and George Gabri.

Helen was born in Massena March 5, 1921 the daughter of Michael and Julia (Bover) Gabri.

She graduated from Massena High School. Helen and her husband resided their entire married life in Massena. Helen was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph’s and St. Mary’s Church.

Helen was joined in marriage to Clifford Marcil June 7, 1941 at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Mgsr. Timothy P. Holland presiding. Clifford died July 30, 1988.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena.
