The Potsdam and Parishville-Hopkinton U17 Girls teams both netted Select Summer Soccer wins on their home fields Monday evening.
Potsdam 2, Madrid-Waddington 0: Playing at the SUNY Potsdam Route 56 field, the host team generated a pair of second-half goals in posting the win. Abby Gruneisen scored unassisted for what would stand as the game-winner. Ally Miller finished off a play set up by Sierra Gagnon for the insurance marker.
Keely OBrien backstopped the shutout.
Potsdam returns to action next Monday at home against Brasher Falls starting at 6:30 p.m.
P-H 6, Lisbon 3: At the PHCS varsity field, Michaela Cole anchored a balanced winning attack with a goal and two assists. Kodi Perkins struck for a pair of goals as P-H pulled away from a 2-1 halftime lead for the win. Rachel Remington (1 assist), Brianna Hayes and Olivia Collins delivered the other goals while Jenna Converse, Marissa Paradis, Emily Sloan and Alyssa Sloan each logged solo assists.
Beth Sloan and Maeve Bodish fashioned the Lisbon goals. An own-goal accounted for the other.
Marlee Wilson had five saves working the P-H crease through the first three quarters. Kelsey Putnam stopped another three shots in the fourth while Jackie Sovie stood tall handling 15 shots between the Lisbon pipes.
P-H is slated to host Canton on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
