CLAYTON Thousands Islands Central School District is a finalist for a $25,000 Americas Farmers Grow Rural Education national grant sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.
The district is one of 15 finalists across the state. Winners will be chosen by the organizations advisory council. Almost $2.3 million will be awarded in total.
We received so many outstanding applications from rural school districts across the country, said Monsanto Fund President Deborah Patterson in a press release. The finalists truly went above and beyond what was expected and stand out as top tier choices.
According to the press release, more than 61,000 farmers in the nation nominated their local schools.
