Stephen B. Waters, the publisher of the Rome Sentinel, has been tapped to serve on the Committee on Open Government, according to a news release from state Sen. Joseph A. Griffo, R-Rome.

The Committee on Open Government is a statewide body that helps advise the government and the public on matters related to government transparency and the media. Reporters frequently seek advice and quotes from staff members about the actions of government bodies.
